Motorcycles and ATVs are considered specialty insurance products. Huronia not only offers the required coverage but can also explain in detail what aspects of your lifestyle will be taken into consideration before you buy your motorcycle insurance.
Factors That Influence The Price of Motorcycle Insurance
There are many conditions that insurance companies consider before providing you with insurance for your Motorcycle or ATV. These include how old you are, your driving record, how often you drive or ride, whether or not you’ve had driver/rider training, whether your Motorcycle or ATV is considered a high-performance vehicle, and even where you live.
Minimum Insurance Coverage
Regardless of the factors that influence your motorcycle insurance prices, minimum mandatory insurance coverage includes the following:
- Direct Compensation
Covers damage to your motorcycle or off-road vehicle (plus contents) when the other driver is determined to be at fault for an accident that occurred in the province of Ontario and is insured within Ontario.
- Third Party Liability Coverage
Coverage of at least $200,000.00 is required to protect you from liability should another person be injured, become deceased, or should their property suffer damage as a result of your motorcycle accident. Lawsuits to the limit of your coverage, including the cost of the settlement, are covered.
- Uninsured Vehicle Coverage
Provides financial compensation if an unidentified driver or uninsured driver causes death or injury to you or your family. Damage to your motorcycle or off-road vehicle is covered up to $25,000.00 if incurred by an identified but uninsured driver.
- Statutory Accident Benefits Coverage
Regardless of who causes the motorcycle or off-road vehicle accident, income replacement, supplementary medical, attendant care, rehabilitation, caregiver, non-earner, and death benefits are provided.
Increased Liability and Benefits Coverage
Third Party Liability coverage can be increased over and above minimum coverage, as well as Accident Benefits. You can also incorporate extra coverage for loss of (or damage to) your motorcycle or ATV vehicle including:
- Specified Perils
- Upset or Collision
- Application Perils
